Manhole covers
The durability and high strength of CRC
Is utilized in manhole covers. The covers which have a
diameter of 70 cm weigh less than SO kg, but they are
able to sustain loads of more than 25 tons.The covers
cost more than conventional concrete covers, but they are
stronger and weigh less. Compared to cast iron covers
they weigh more but cost less. As the covers are also
more durable against chemical attack, they are a niche
product with a considerable market potential.

Drain covers As problems were encountered with cast-iron
drain covers a costeffective solution was obtained with
CRC covers. With a height of 40 mm and a concrete cover
of only 10 mm it was possible to guarantee 100 years of
design life In an aggressive environment with a strength
that was more than adequate. More than 40,000 covers were
produced. The project was initiated because of
Interference with the electrical installations from the
cast iron covers, which required electrical insulation of
each cover. Tha choice of CRC covers solved the problem
and it also gave a considerable cost reduction.
